Maybe someone should have told hm that it is a sign of respect to salute the flag during the playing of our country's National Anthem. And hasn't this been an issue in the past as well? One could almost come to believe that he REALLY just doesn't respect this country after all.

Well, he doesn't. Respect the country that is. Also, he thinks that he transcends the country. Remember when John Lennon said, that the Beatles were bigger than Jesus? Same thing here, an over developed ego and sense of self importance and destiny.
For all his alleged intelligence, he's a foolish, foolish, man.
